This is an art quilt I created from an image I saw in a Quilting Arts magazine. I used beer caps to make the flowers and the sun, a quilted “yo yo” for the flower and quilted the leaves to give it a 3D appearance. The flower on the left is made from 3 buttons stacked on top of each other and the stem is a zipper made for jeans. The background is a batik, and the grass is a batik fat quarter. The edges are raw edges with a zig zag stitch to keep it from fraying on the edges. The entire art quilt is 12 in. x 12 in. square. Without instruction, this little quilt took me about 4 hours over a couple of days to complete and I had a lot of fun doing it.
