If you look through my shop you will see that I tend to like skulls, but I just like the monster theme in general.  My block that I’m going to show you is an original!  I drew from my love of Zombies and “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown”, and.. I learned these little zombie felties from the book by Sarah Skeate “Zombie Felties”.  I have built some zombie felties in the past and as I was coming up with my idea for a block, I wondered what would happen if the pumpkins in the pumpkin patch were “zombified”!

My background is made from a dark purple upcycled wool sweater I found at Goodwill.  I washed and dryed it on high heat to shrink it down to use.  The sign is made from wood printed fabric fused to a piece of Muslin so that I could place it on the block and have it still look 3D.  I freemotion quilted the “Pumpkins 4 Sale” on it.  This sign was inspired from a Pumpkins 4 Sale wall hanging I made with my Mom a few years ago.

The Zombie Pumpkins are all made from pieces of felt cut out to look like little zombies had sprung up from the pumpkin patch.  I have represented the orange pumpkins, the yellow colored pumpkins, and the green pumpkins.

I don’t have a pattern for this block, it is 10.5″ block and just came to life from my brain!  It could be transferred easily to a fabric block is anyone is interested.
